Gustav The Update

Having past over Cuba, Gustav has de-intensified to a Category 3 Storm. However it looks like it could re-instensify to a Category 4 before it makes landfall again.

The BBC Weather site has this map and text as an update.

Hurricane Gustav is continuing its journey across the Gulf of Mexico towards the United States Gulf Coast.

Although Gustav has weakened since it moved over Cuba on Saturday, some re-itensification is still forecast before it makes landfall again.

Currently a Category Three hurricane, it may strengthen to Category Four, but whether that happens or not it is still likely to be a dangerously powerful storm.

There is always an element of uncertainty when predicting hurricane tracks, so although an evacuation is under way in New Orleans, the hurricane watch extends all the way from eastern Texas to western Florida. Landfall is expected around the middle of Monday local time.

Having posted the image today and yesterday I get the feeling that the link stays the same they just change what the picture shows – so they both could be showing the same throughout.
